Susanne Renee Leasure has a wonderful ability to portray scenes which the rest of us only imagine. Her use of colorful hues of peach and blue coupled with tans, browns and grays to portray the amazing Avila Beach is outstanding. This artist is able to create with easel and brush a remarkable rendition of nature reminiscent of those of the finest of photographs, but with texture and feeling not possible in that medium. She imbues us with the ability to almost feel the sand creep between our toes as we stand on her beach staring at the reflections in the sand. We can see the greenery as it inches its way down the cliff to try to dip its foliage into the surf. We see cliff face flattened by eons of the rush of salty water. A tiny sea cave is visible in the rock. The artist captivates us with her abilities to put on canvas what she sees with her eyes. One who has not had the experience of walking the beach might think that the colors as used in her paintings are in her imagination only. But not so. They are a true portrayal of the experience of walking on the beach when the sun is just right in the sky, casting its light at just the right angle. This is a truly gifted artist.
