Wall Art: Tar Pits Moonrise by Paul Leasure

Print Highlights

This painting is taken from a place called Tar Pits Beach, in Carpinteria, California. The golden bluffs are a gorgeous backdrop for this little inlet of ocean in Central California. Deep Green trees peek out from the left side. Jagged, edgy, rocks seem to jump up out of the water. All in all this piece has unique composition and interesting colors that are bold enough to hold our gaze and make us take a second look at this enchanting painting.

Wall Art Print Details

You have discovered an exceptional seascape depicting the bluffs (or cliffs) on the shore of a small coastal town named Carpinteria just south of Santa Barbara, California. This is the second painting Leasure has created with a "day moon" in it. Adding to the uniqueness of the scene are the natural deposits of tar oozing from the cliff faces and onto the beach. If you zoom in on this work of wall art while in the web site gallery, you will notice the dancing sparkles between the waves on their way to the rocky beach. These glimmers are not from the moon seen in this painting. Rather, they are from the sun, not seen in the composition.
