Archival Giclee Art Print
I found this remarkable jewel of a spot after hiking down to the edge of the Pacific Ocean near Ragged Point in the Big Sur area of California. Tired from the hike, I walked over to sit on some rocks were the waves were crashing. The salt air was so refreshing and the sounds were entrancing. I experienced an ethereal high as I watched the turquoise water rush in and dowse the rocks covered with barnacles, sea stars, anemone, pinkish grey coral, chitons, muscles, and sea urchins. All the surfaces would glisten and sparkle as the gushing and flushing sea foam receded in a swirling vortex of frothy white and blue green luminance. I crouched down to get a closer look. In the corner of my eye, I saw something else move. There were sea crabs reacting to my presents with cautious scattering movements. The brown and raw umber colors of their shells would light up as they scurried from shadow to sunlit tide pool and back into shadow.
